The above chart shows just my grandfather George and three generations of his ancestors. I do though have information about some of my others ancestors if you wish to get in touch with me. Also I am continuing my research and writing stories about my ancestors as I come across them. I have been interested in the Ellis family for some time now. I never met my grandfather as he died during world war two. As I began to research his ancestors I realised that were not originally from Yorkshire but had come across from Ireland in 1839 and first settled in Kent.
A tale of three coastguards – or three coastguard biographies for the Ellis family
I have written short biographies for three of my ancestors: Francis Ellis, my great great great grandfather and two of his sons: Francis Ellis, my great great grandfather and his brother Robert; all three of whom served in the coastguard service. Each biography is written as self contained pieces and in some cases includes some interesting connections with the current day and my own immediate family.

Note: the image on this page is the war memorial in Fulford Church, Yorkshire which features my grandfather’s name.
Do also keep an eye on my blog as I also add stories to it. There is one based around my two times great grandmother Ann Bean – the Bean family.
Note: I have BMD, census and references for all the information provided in each story. Do let me know if you would like to know more.
